As you may know, we recently opened a state-of-the-art pet resort, called the Lodge, here at Countryside Veterinary Hospital. We’re really proud of it. At the Lodge, we offer doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming services…but not just any doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming services. There’s a lot that makes the Lodge stand out, and we knew that before it even opened. And, a recent email we received from someone named “Fido”* has confirmed that our animal visitors love the Lodge just as much as we do. Check it out:

Dear Countryside Veterinary Hospital,

Last weekend, I watched frantically as my mom did laundry and hollered at the kids about bathing suits and sunscreen. I looked on as Dad pulled open the “important drawer” in the office and pulled out those little blue travel books. I heard Sally crying on the phone to her boyfriend about missing him over Spring Break and Jimmy asking Mom if he could bring his skateboard, his Xbox, his basketball…

I knew what was going on. It was time for my beloved human family members to once again leave me and Miss Kitty behind while they left the house with a bunch of suitcases, only to return a week later with tan lines and cheesy T-shirts. In the meantime, we’d be left in the capable hands of the not-so-fun house sitter. Again.

But this time was different.

This time, they loaded Miss Kitty and me into the car with them and drove us over to Countryside Veterinary Hospital. At first, I was confused. Why’d they pack up their bags to take us to the vet? But then, I saw it: “The Lodge.”

It was beautiful and inviting. Miss Kitty was paranoid (as usual), but I assured her that we had nothing to worry about. The folks at Countryside had always taken good care of us, and I was sure this experience wouldn’t be any different.

Boy, was I right.

The Lodge was the most spectacular “home away from home” I’ve ever been to! The all-inclusive suite was fancier than my regular house. I loved the toddler bed I got to sleep in, and the cozy rug was the perfect spot to chew on my treats and play with my toys. But, my absolute favorite part was the pool outside. I just love to splash in the water, and the fountains in the pool were so fun!

One day, one of your awesome team members was petting me and telling me how handsome I was when she felt a big lump on my leg. She took me right in to see my regular veterinarian, who assured her that it was an old, fatty tumor that had just come back as benign at my last checkup a few months before. With her mind at ease, we headed back outside together for more fun and games in the pool.

How wonderful to have my trusted veterinarian there while my family is away on vacation! I’m sure that old house sitter wouldn’t know what to do if there were an emergency with my health. She’d have to bring me to Countryside! I wonder what ever happened to that old house sitter…

I couldn’t have asked for a better Spring Break. Every day, I got to spend time with my dog pals at doggie daycare, splashing and chasing and barking and just having the best time.

(My only complaint about the whole experience: You gave me a bath before my family picked me up. I really don’t think it’s fair that I had to have a bath but Miss Kitty did not. While I love time in the pool, the bath is an entirely different story. Maybe by next Spring Break you’ll re-think your bath policy.)

I am so glad you built the Lodge so Miss Kitty and I have somewhere wonderful to go when our family is traveling. I can’t wait for next year’s Spring Break…and summer, and Thanksgiving, and… you get my point. Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

Fido

Our response to Fido:

Thank you for your kind words, Fido! We’re glad you and Miss Kitty enjoyed your stay at the Lodge, and we can’t wait to see you both again! (We’re not making any promises about the bath policy, though.)

See you next time!

Your friends at Countryside Veterinary Hospital
